ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Fire Prevention Company was formed to help advise and assist Business with compliance with the current regulations covering fire in the UK.

As an ex-fire service fire safety inspector and fire fighter with over 30 years’ experience I have the knowledge gained over this time to assist  and make businesses safe from fire through education, training and Risk Assessment.

FIRE RISK ASSESSMENT

Since the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order  came into force it has been a legal requirement for all companies with 5 or more employees or have a licence in force on the premises, to carry out a documented fire risk assessment of their premises.

The Fire Prevention Company have trained assessors who will visit your site to carry out a detailed fire risk assessment and provide you with an in depth assessment / action plan on the areas that need to be addressed on your premises to safely comply with current regulations covering fire.

BESPOKE TRAINING

Each of our bespoke fire marshal training sessions are delivered by ex-fire service, fire safety inspector and covers compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. The aim of the course is simple, to give your fire wardens training, so that should a fire break out at your workplace they would have the skills and knowledge to deal with it safely.

TRAINING COURSE CONTENT

Our training course content is very comprehensive with elements of theory and practice, including the opportunity to get hands on with fire fighting equipment (fire extinguishers) and should the worst happen, then the fire marshal training received teaches what action to take.

  • Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
  • Chemistry of fire, how fires start.
  • Common causes of fire.
  • Fire safety features within the building.
  • Actions on discovering fire.
  • Raising the alarm / calling the fire brigade.
  • Hazard spotting / hazard reduction.
  • Weekly checks / record keeping.

FIRE EXTINGUISHER TRAINING PRACTICE AND THEORY

Fire safety training has been a legal requirement since the introduction of the Regulatory Reform (fire safety) Order 2005. Course duration is ½ day or 3 ½ hrs. and pre-session group size is a maximum of 12 delegates, a comprehensive course handbooks are provided for individual delegates and a course attendance certificate on successful  completion proves that candidates have complete knowledge of their responsibilities at their work place.

After years of front line fire fighting experience and a number of years as a fire service fire safety inspector together with years of training experience, we are in a unique position to provide expert advice regarding fire safety and emergency management and to develop training programs for fire safety and evacuation procedures of all types of business environments.
